Delta Dental of Illinois (DDIL) and Ryan Companies US, Inc. have broken ground on an 85,000-square-foot office building in Naperville. The ceremony to mark the beginning of construction of the new building was attended by executives and board members from Delta Dental of Illinois, representatives from Ryan Companies, a variety of Naperville officials including Mayor George Pradel, and other members of the development team. "We started establishing our presence in Illinois 42 years ago," DDIL President Robert Dennison said in his remarks. "This new building will give us a prominent physical presence in Naperville, along I-88. We are proud to put our office here." The new office building will serve as the new headquarters for DDIL and allow it to expand operations and establish an enhanced corporate identity with signage along I-88. The Midwest region of Ryan Companies US, Inc. has designed and is constructing the building, located at 123 Shuman Boulevard. Ryan also will relocate its offices from next door, at 55 Shuman Boulevard, and lease approximately 20,000 square feet of space in the building. In relocating its corporate offices and operations from Lisle to Naperville, Delta Dental of Illinois will significantly expand its space. The company currently leases approximately 43,000 square feet at 801 Ogden Avenue in Lisle. The company has more than 170 employees. The new home of DDIL will be four stories, with floor plates averaging about 20,000 square feet of space. DDIL will occupy the first three floors and Ryan will occupy the entire fourth floor. In selling almost five acres of land to DDIL for this building, Ryan retains approximately three acres of the land it acquired in 2005. With that land Ryan could develop a building totaling 35,000 square feet of space. Gary Fazzio, executive vice president, Jon Springer, senior vice president, and Amy Preston, project manager for CB Richard Ellis, provided tenant representation services on behalf of Delta Dental of Illinois. David Justh, executive vice president, CB Richard Ellis, represented Ryan Companies. More Articles
